Radcliffe Rowing Opens Fall Season at Head of the Housatonic

Throughout the day, the conditions were ideal for rowing—overcast, light breezes, and calm waters. In the women’s eight event, Radcliffe fielded seven boats, both lightweights and heavyweights. In this first event, three of Radcliffe’s crews finished in top ten positions with the varsity eight securing a fourth place finish in a time of 14:09 behind Brown and two Yale boats.

Women's Tennis Drops Pair of Home Ivy Matches

Despite a five-match winning streak that spanned spring break, the Harvard women’s tennis team (10-8, 0-2 Ivy) fell to Cornell (12-7, 1-2 Ivy) and Columbia (13-4, 3-0 Ivy) this past weekend at home. Its recent success in California over the break included victories against multiple non-Ivy teams—Providence, Rhode Island, Loyola Marymount, UCSB, and Fresno State. However, the Crimson was unable to carry the momentum home for its first two Ancient Eight matches.

Men's Lacrosse Hoping to Bounce Back Against Penn State

This Saturday, the No. 7 Harvard men’s lacrosse team (4-1) looks to rebound as it faces off against Penn State (4-2) at Penn State Lacrosse Field. The last time the two teams faced off, the Crimson squad earned an early lead against the Nittany Lions, maintaining a close lead throughout most of the game before finally widening the margin at the end of the third quarter, resulting in an overall 12-9 victory.

Sailing Takes Fifth at Sharpe Trophy Team Race

Coming off a successful fall season, in which the two divisions of the squad totaled 31 top-ten marks, the Harvard sailing team traveled down to Providence, R.I. this weekend to compete in the opening regatta of its spring season — the Sharpe Trophy Team Race hosted by Brown. Seven athletes made the trip to represent the Crimson, racing in FJ vessels and Z420 dinghies against competitors from nine other top-tier collegiate sailing programs. The Crimson squad finished the weekend with an overall 5-4 record for the regatta.
