After batting .252 in 2011, senior shortstop Jane Alexander had a breakout season in 2012. Alexander recorded 32 hits and a .408 batting average as the Harvard softball team claimed its second straight Ivy title.

Sophomore third baseman Kasey Lange, pictured above in earlier action, led the high-powered Crimson offense past Holy Cross on Thursday, finishing with four hits in the matchup. Senior pitcher Rachel Brown delivered a standout performance, blanking the Crusaders in seven innings.

Senior infielder Whitney Shaw scored a run and reached base twice on walks during the Harvard softball team’s two-game sweep of Columbia on Friday at Soldiers Field. The Crimson grabbed the opener, 8-0, and then followed with another shutout victory, 4-0, later that same day.
