Free NYC: Exploring on a College Student Budget
There’s a lot to do in New York, and most of it costs an absurd amount of money. But I’m here to tell you that there are free venues where you can have fun and get off the beaten track at the same time. All you need is a metrocard and a sense of adventure.
Hipster Hangouts: Clover
I’ve been accused of being many things in my day: a fool, a bro, a ‘God damn liberal.’ But never a hipster; which is why my endorsement of Clover as the ultimate hipster-hangout in Harvard square should carry all the more weight.

What We're Writing: Flyby Raids Lamont Recycling Bins
First drafts are no longer safe from the eyes of outsiders. Flyby raided the Lamont recycling bins to discover the deeply profound, uncover the roughest of the rough, and unearth a slew of amusing, verbose, and altogether fascinating papers. Here are some lessons we learned and the take-aways for the last stretch of finals:
Jump! Flyby's Pre-Graduation Checklist
Next Saturday students will turn in the last batch of final exams and the 2011-2012 school year will be officially complete. The class of 2012, which only has a few tests, senior week, and Commencement ahead of them, can attest to the fact that your Harvard experience really will finish before you can say "Primal Scream." Rapper David Banner visited Harvard last weekend to speak at a conference entitled, "LA Riots: Twenty Year Later," a reflection on social justice and inequality in America in the aftermath of the Los Angeles riots in 1992. Flyby sat down to talk with the successful rapper, producer, and social activist, who has worked to raise awareness about the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
Daylight Saving Time
Remember to set your clocks forward one hour before you go to bed tonight, as daylight saving time begins on March 11 at 2 a.m. This applies to almost everyone, although it's worth mention that those visiting Hawaii, Arizona, and the Midway Islands this spring break needn't bother. Enjoy the break, everyone!
'Roll up your sleeves, or eat an orange'
It's been a month since the last "From the Tip Box" installation, and since then the rectangle on the upper right side of Flyby has received a fair amount of attention. While some readers have caught on to the fact that we can, indeed, see what is submitted, others are still blissfully typing away under the impression that the Tip Box is a search engine. Below you'll find a taste of everything: the unsuspecting searches, the directed messages, and more. Oh, and to the Tip Box troll, let it be noted that we're on to you.
Rank Your House in Flyby's Poll
Since 2009, Flyby has ranked the Houses from one to 12 in anticipation of Housing Day. This year, for the first time ever, student input will determine the rankings for Flyby's 2012 Housing Market series.
