The dining halls in Currier House and Dunster House’s temporary space in the former Inn at Harvard will remain open through spring break as part of a new pilot program funded by the Office of the Dean of the College.

After other dining halls close following dinner service on Friday, Currier and Dunster will remain open through spring break for lunch and dinner, but not breakfast.

The initiative follows several lobbying attempts by the Undergraduate Council, including legislation passed in spring 2013 requesting that the College provide on-campus dining over spring break.

Because students were not required to register in order to stay on campus for spring break, there is no exact number of how many undergraduates will remain, according to Associate Dean of Student Life William Cooper '94. Administrators will use meal swipe data throughout the week to help determine how many students are on campus, he added.

Cooper also wrote that Currier and Dunster dining halls will provide lunch and dinner service, as well as weekend brunch, at “regular meal times.”
