Harvard University Police Department and Cambridge Police Department officers keep watch in front of Massachusetts Hall, home to the office of the Harvard president, as more than 200 Harvard affiliates protest the University’s decision to place 20 participants of the pro-Palestine encampment on involuntary leave in May 2024. More than 300 pages of emails obtained by The Crimson via a public records request show how the Harvard University and Cambridge Police Departments alerted each other to protest activity in the months following Oct. 7.

A passerby walks past Royale Nightclub around midnight last Monday. Nicholas Diego Leanos, a rapper known as “Lil Xan,” repeatedly struck and kicked a Harvard College sophomore in the face during the Harvard-Yale pregame at the Royale nightclub on Nov. 23, prompting the Boston Police Department to investigate an alleged aggravated assault.
