Men's Hockey Faces Off Against Cornell in Three Game Series
After beating Princeton 1-0 on its home ice at Bright Landry, the Harvard men’s hockey team (6-10-6) will head to Ithaca this weekend to compete for a spot in the ECAC semifinals, which are set to be held at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, N.Y. The Crimson, ranked No. 8 in the ECAC playoffs, will play in a best-of-three series against No. 2 ECAC-ranked Cornell (12-6-4). Coming off of impressive regular season play, Cornell — who is ranked 15th nationally — earned the No. 2 ECAC ranking in the postseason tournament, which afforded the Big Red Bears a brief reprieve from competition with a first round bye.
Men's Hockey Posts Mixed Results Against Union and RPI
The Crimson (5-16-4, 5-10-5 ECAC) posted mixed results this weekend against Union College and RPI, falling 6-2 to the Garnet Chargers and besting the Chargers 3-2 in an exciting shootout win to end the weekend victorious.

Harvard men’s hockey (4-13-3, 4-8-3 ECAC) lost the 2024 Beanpot semifinal to the Northeastern Huskies (11-12-2, 6-11-0 HE) 3-2 in an overtime heartbreaker, after the Huskies netted the game-winning goal just 33 seconds into overtime.

Harvard men’s ice hockey (4-13-3, 4-8-3 Ivy) lost 2-1 against one of its most difficult opponents of the season, No. 1 ECAC and No. 7 NCAA-ranked Quinnipiac, on Friday. The loss marked its second to the Bobcats this season, with the first coming from a decisive 6-0 shutout at Bright-Landry.

Harvard Closes Out the First Half of the Season with Up-and-Down Weekend
Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Harvard women’s ice hockey played three games, but was unable to come out of the weekend with any points. In its first game, the Crimson took a trip up to Durham, N.H., where it faced the New Hampshire Wildcats (7-7-1). With Harvard unable to find the back of the net, the Wildcats pulled away with a 3-0 win, having scored a goal in each period. The Wildcats’ Brooke Hammer had an impressive performance, putting up three points with two goals and an assist.
Harvard Ties Colgate, Beats Cornell to Earn First Win of the Season
After last weekend’s drubbing at the hands of Quinnipiac, Harvard men’s ice hockey head coach Ted Donato said that his team would need to play “markedly better” on the road this weekend if they wanted to be successful against Colgate and Cornell. With a 2-2 tie against Colgate on Friday and an enormous 3-2 victory over Cornell on Saturday at notoriously hostile Lynah Rink, the squad seems to have gotten the message this weekend, and may be starting to round into form.
