Field Hockey Topples UPenn and No. 5 St. Joseph’s, Clinching Spot in Ivy League Tournament
No. 11 field hockey went undefeated this weekend in dramatic style, edging out conference rival UPenn (4-11, 2-4 Ivy) in the final seconds of regulation play on Friday, 2-1, and then beating No. 5 Saint Joseph’s in an overtime nail-biter (14-3, 5-1 Atlantic 10) 2-1 on Sunday.

On Saturday, during the renowned Head of the Charles Regatta, two Ivy League rivals faced off at Berylson Field, the perfect place for field hockey alongside the river. Despite being the favorite heading into the contest, No. 10 Harvard (10-3, 4-1 Ivy League) fell to No. 15 Princeton (9-4, 5-0 Ivy League) 2-1 in overtime.
Harvard Field Hockey Extends Its Win Streak to Seven, Beats Yale and BU
This past weekend the No. 9 Harvard women’s field hockey team (9-1, 3-0 Ivy League) defended its home turf with wins against historic rival Yale (6-4, 1-2 Ivy League) and fellow Charles River foe Boston University (5-5, 2-1 Patriot League). Following a decisive 3-1 win against the Bulldogs on Friday, the Crimson set its sights on toppling BU. On Sunday, Harvard successfully beat the Terriers, extending its winning streak to seven straight games with a 2-1 victory.

The No. 10 Harvard Women’s Field Hockey team (7-1, 2-0 Ivy League) headed down to Providence on Saturday for an afternoon game against the Brown Bears (2-5, 1-1 Ivy League). After a dominant 4-0 win against the Bears, the Crimson returned victoriously to Cambridge to take on the UMass Minutewomen (7-3, 2-0 Mid-American Conference) on Sunday. The contest between Harvard and the Minutewomen was a nailbiter, extending into an overtime shootout in which the Crimson secured the 2-1 win in the sixth round of shots.
No. 8 Harvard Field Hockey Sweeps The Weekend, Dominating Dartmouth and The University of Vermont
The No. 8 Harvard field hockey team (5-1, 0-0 Ivy League) continued its impressive run this past weekend, improving to 5-1 on the season. For its first game of the weekend, the Crimson headed up to Hanover to kick off Ivy League play against the Dartmouth Big Green (1-4, 0-1 Ivy League). The team then ventured further north to Burlington to face off against the University of Vermont Catamounts (2-5, 1-0 America East). Harvard excelled in both games, posting a solid 3-1 win over the Big Green and a 4-1 victory against the Catamounts.

No. 7 Harvard Field Hockey (3-1, 0-0 Ivy) kicked off its home opener in Cambridge this past weekend, facing off against both the No. 19 UAlbany Great Danes (4-1) and the No.16 University of Connecticut Huskies (5-1). After defeating both William & Mary and Wake Forest in its first weekend of play, the Harvard team hoped to continue its hot streak on its home turf.

Nationally ranked No. 7, Harvard Field Hockey (2-0, 0-0 Ivy) hit the road for its opening weekend of competition, traveling South to take on William & Mary (0-4) and No. 18 Wake Forest (0-3). The games marked the Crimson’s first two battles of the 2024 season.
