The audience gave Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble a preemptive standing ovation at a pause in the middle of one of their pieces during their performance yesterday with Harvard student musicians at Memorial Church. After the performance, the Thelma E. Goldberg Arts in Education award was presented to Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Project for their contributions to education and the arts.
