Starbucks opened its new location in front of the Pit in Harvard Square today. The new outpost offers the standard Starbucks drinks, foods, and other products but features a two-story design, which sets it apart from the two other Starbucks in the Square.
The second floor hosts an eclectic mix of seating: bar stools, couches, wooden chairs, and even pews. Adding to the blended flavor of tavern and café vibes, local musicians will perform in the upper space, which overlooks the Square.
The store operates from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Monday through Saturday and 6.a.m to 1 a.m. on Sunday.
Those of you who are coffee connoisseurs may want to know that the store is home to two Clover brewing systems—a high-end coffee maker that makes one ideal cup at a time and is also found in the other two Square locations.
Perhaps this deluxe new arrival will finally provide enough caffeine to satiate even Harvard Square. Today's opening increases the number of Starbucks in the immediate vicinity of the Square to three. In the broader vicinity of the Harvard campus, there are now five Starbucks locations.
