We know the school year isn't over quite yet, but hey, who are we kidding. You have no desire to actually study for those last couple exams. Nah. You'd rather dream of the semester to come. FlyBy is here to help.

We got our grubby hands on the preliminary list of courses that will be available to students in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences for the 2009-2010 school year. And some of these new classes look, to say the least, stimulating.

Check out FlyBy's shopping list, after the jump.

  • Folklore and Mythology 172. Quilts and Quiltmaking — We can't wait to see who will be taking this class with us. From the course description, it sounds like actual quiltmaking won't be happening, but we can dream, right? Thimbles not required.
  • Freshman Seminar 23v. The Psychology of Powerpoint — Eat your hearts out, future consultants. This alone should land you a gig at McKinsey: "As humans, our minds have certain strengths and weaknesses, and clear and compelling presentations play to the cognitive strengths of the audience members and avoid falling prey to their weaknesses." Those prospective clients will be putty in your Powerpointing hands.
  • Freshman Seminar 33g. Eloquence Personified: How To Speak Like Cicero — That's quite a guarantee.
  • History and Literature 90t. Legacies of Torture — Ouch. This seminar examines "the ethical and aesthetic responsibilities and challenges of representing torture." Not for the squeamish...
  • History of Science 114v. From Angels to Monsters: Cosmology, Anthropology, and the Ends of the World — What a title. It just took us on an extraterrestrial ride, in all its twelve-word glory. The course will explore the "position of humans as cultural creatures at the intersection of nature and spirit." Whatever the hell that means.
  • Jewish Studies 170. Job and the Problem of Suffering — "Why did I not perish at birth, and die as I came from the womb? Why were there knees to receive me and breasts that I might be nursed?" What a downer. Enroll to find the answer to this question and more depressing ones from Job.
  • Psychology 980e. Interpersonal Relationships — The class will cover topics like "trust, intimacy, support, satisfaction, conflict resolution, betrayal, and toxicity." Wait, repeat that last one?
  • Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality 1142. Sex and the Bible — Oh baby, your neck is like the tower of David and your teeth like a flock of sheep just shorn. Wanna lie together?
