Arts Vanity: A Sonnet for 14 Plympton Street

This autumn and the one before, instead

of staying in on Monday evenings, I

would watch the tree across the street turn red

as Crimson Arts production nights flew by.

I don’t know on how many of those nights

we had to walk back home through icy rain,

but now I know for sure there’s nothing quite

like taking daytime showers in champagne.

The last red leaves outside have blown away,

and this will be my last Arts vanity,

so thanks for hearing what I had to say

about the songs that meant the most to me.

I really hope that you could feel my heart

in every piece I wrote for Crimson Arts.
