After all, we, as students, have more of a stake in this than we choose to acknowledge. There have been 45 school shootings this year: more than one per week. Craven politicians declare that more guns on campuses will keep us safe from sexual assault. We stay silent.

So I ask: When will we have the courage to speak clearly and firmly that this is no longer acceptable, no longer normal? When will we be ready to shoulder this burden together?
