Police Log

April 15:

3:24 a.m.—A Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) officer observed a person kneeling down on the street, near Western Avenue and Travis Street in Allston. The responding officer determined the individual was in need of medical assistance and he or she was soon transported to the hospital in an ambulance.

11:59 a.m.—An officer was sent to Eliot House in response to a report alleging an unknown individual was en route to the dining hall. The individual, who was determined to be homeless, was found and sent away.

11:46 p.m.—Officers were sent to the Radcliffe Quadrangle because of a report regarding unruly people on the shuttle bus who had allegedly been smoking. HUPD officers boarded the bus but did not observe anyone smoking or acting unruly at the time. The officers spoke to the occupants of the bus and allowed the bus to continue on its course.

April 16:

12:00 a.m.—Reports of an altercation between three people led HUPD officers to investigate the incident, along with Cambridge Police Department (CPD) officers, on Kennedy Street. Upon arrival, the parties were spoken to, checked for wants and warrants, and ultimately sent away.

8:14 p.m.—An officer reported to Matthews Hall in response to a complaint from an individual who was nearly struck with a bottle. After checking the area, the responding officer determined that no suspicious person had been found lingering.

April 17:

3:27 a.m.—Officers were sent to Johnston Gate to investigate an alleged assault, where the assaulter was reported to have still been on the scene. Police spoke to both parties, neither of whom wished to press charges, and no report was filed.

4:25 p.m.—An officer responded to 10 DeWolfe St. because of a report about a suspicious call a person had received from a known individual. The officer spoke to the reporting party and filed a report.

April 18:

12:03 p.m.—An officer was sent to Gund Hall to investigate the theft of two black IBM laptop computers that had been left unattended and unsecured. The stolen items were valued collectively at $2,400.

2:33 p.m.—An officer was sent, again, to investigate the theft of a third reportedly stolen black laptop computer at Gund Hall, which was valued at $1,200.

8:35 p.m.—An officer was dispatched to Thayer Hall to note the possible theft of a unsecured black Arcadia bicycle worth $1,000.

April 19:

1:30 a.m.—HUPD officers reported to the Science Center in response to a report alleging that a person had knocked over a trash barrel and was making noise. Although the responding officers could not locate the individual, they notified the building’s facility staff of the mess the knocked-over barrel had made.
