Also on April 17, a cab driver responding to a pickup request on Cambridge St. reported he was assaulted by two people who got into his cab. The driver told police he asked his riders if they had called for the cab. They told him "no." He then asked them to leave. He claims that one of the people then punched him in the chest three times.
April 16
The Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) arrested Ronald Verschaeve, of 189 Middlesex Street in Lowell, on an outstanding warrant from the Fitchburg District Court in Fitchburg, Mass. He was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of a needle.
Also on April 16, Ladi O. Balogun, A Harvard Business School student, was stopped for speeding near Arrow Street by CPD officers. Balogun was given several field sobriety tests, which police said he failed. Balogun was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
April 15
A women's bicycle that had been reported stolen was recovered by the CPD on Ellery Street. Upon checking the registration, they discovered it belonged to a Harvard-affiliated person and contacted the HUPD.
April 14
The CPD arrested the following individuals at the MIT protest for Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji: Kim Meston of Newton, for assault and battery, Mingjo Zhou for assault and battery with a flag pole, and Daja Meston for disorderly conduct.
April 13
A Cambridge resident reports that between 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m., an unknown male telephoned his house and said, "I know who you are, I know where you go to school, and I am going to shoot you and you won't ever know who did it."
