For the game, Wilmot, McCluskey and freshman Zach Viders each found the mesh twice, while Wojcik and junior Kevin Silva scored once. Junior Peter Albers sophomore Ben Weeden and freshman Jordan Dupuis from Christchurch, New Zealand pitched the shutout in goal.
So the defending Ivy League champions have already accomplished the non-league win they never achieved last year. Improving on that total this weekend, however, would require a massive upset, as Harvard faces preseason No. 5 North Carolina tonight in the North Carolina Tournament and the College of Charleston--an NCAA Final Eight team from last year--on Sunday.
Playing those schools is daunting enough. Doing so without a large chunk of the team is nearly impossible. Due to freshman week activities, none of the rookies is making the trip down to Chapel Hill.
"I would love to see us go down and put together a big effort," Locker said. "If we play North Carolina with our full team late in the season, we'll give them a lot of trouble."
Hopefully for the Crimson players, they'll give UNC more trouble than Fairfield gave them.
