Spreyer was forced to kick and Burr ran back ten yards to the Eli 45 yard stripe. Two plays and no gains, so Seymour punted out of bounds on Harvard's eight yard line with the best kick of the afternoon.
With Macdonald carrying the load, the Crimson drove to a first down on their 20, but Spreyer had to kick and the Elis took possession at midfield. The half ended after a single no gain play with Yale leading 7-0.
Third Period
With Heiden in for Spreyer, the Crimson opened in the first half. Lee took the kickoff to the 30. Torbie passed to Mackinney for 10 yards and then tossed another which bounded off an Eli into MacKinney arms on the Yale 35.
Macdonald to Lovett failed once, but clicked on the next play to the 23 yard line. On the fourth down, Torbie passed to the end zone but Whiteman slapped it out of Lee's shorter arms.
A 65-yard Eli quick kick put Harvard back to her own 21 from where Macdonald kicked just past midfield. Again the Eli coffin holed the Crimson with a kick to the 17. A Macdonald pass deep in Crimson territory was then intercepted by Whiteman and the Ellis were in scoring position on Harvard's 27.
Bartholemy's fourth down catch of Burr's pass apparently spelled doom for the Crimson, but he was beyond the end zone so there was no score. The ball went to Harvard on the 20.
Burr churned through guard for another touchdown., but an offside called the play back. The new fighting Elis pushed through to the two and on the fourth down Seymour ran off tackle with five charging Harvard's for the six points. Again Kaye came in to kick the point. Score Yale 14, Harvard o.
The period closed after the Eli kickoff and a Macdonald center plunge had placed the ball on the mid stripe.
Fourth Period
When it was Yale's turn to fumble and Dick Paster fell on Burr's dropped ball on the 37, Whiteman's interception stopped short Crimson joy two plays later.
As the game drew to a close. Torbie filled the air with desperation passes. He had played a great game, but no one could pull out a victory from the alert Bulldog.
Seymour recovered a Harvard fumble on Harvard's eight yard line with only three minutes of playing time to go. Macdonald fumbled and Seymour recovered and on the next play went over and scored for the Eli. Yale missed the extra point. Macdonald made touchdown.
