'VARSITY TAKES A REST.

The Second Eleven Lines Up Against '96 and '98.

Gierasch, f.b. f.b., Satterlee.

After the second eleven had rested a short time the sophomores were brought in. They did not make so good a showing as the seniors. Flershem and Emmons on the ends were easily brushed aside allowing both Hamlen and Gierasch to make many long runs around the ends.

Three touchdowns were made by the second eleven. The men played more aggressively against the sophomores than against the seniors. Beale played with more snap than he has for some time. His passing, however, was not always accurate. Sargent showed that he can put up a good game at tackle. The change in putting him at tackle instead of at guard seems thus far to be a good one.

For '98 Fuller stood his ground well, while Manning made some good tackles. The team was very weak behind the line and was not very strong in the line.

The line-up was:
