Groton, 8; Harvard '95, 3.The Freshmen were beaten by the Groton team at Groton on Saturday, in a very unsatisfactory game. The Groton pitcher proved too much for the freshmen, and for the first three innings not a man got to first base. Though he struck out only two men during the game, '95 scored only three hits. Almost all the batting consisted in knocking easy grounders to the infield. Harvard's fielding was very loose, though several pretty catches were made. Twice the team went to pieces. Rogers muffed two easy thrown balls on first, and Reed threw a wild ball to first, while Rogers was looking the other way, allowing one man to score, and another to get from first base to third. Again in the fifth inning with two men out, Groton scored four hits in succession bringing in three earned runs. Following is the score:
