By these figures it will be seen that the two teams average nearly the same in every way. The place where Yale is stronger is the centre, however, and it is plain that Harvard's centre-men will have to bear the brunt of the battle.

In connection with this annual freshman game a summary of all the games which have been played since 1876, when the class of '80 inaugurated the custom of annual freshman games between the two universities by defeating the Yale freshmen 18 to 0. Since then the classes of '83, (two games) '84, '85 and '95 are the only classes which have lost the game. '84 and '87 played tie games, while '82, '88 and '89 did not pay. The summary:
