FACT AND RUMOR.

The dinner tendered the Yale nine by Harvard, '86, at the Quincy House Saturday night, was in every respect a decided success. The committee which had the affair in charge is to be congratulated on the perfection of all the arrangements.

The Williams College Glee Club is thinking of making a tour of the fashionable watering places and the West during the coming summer.

It is somewhat doubtful if a date can be fixed upon for playing the third game at Springfield which will be satisfactory to both the Harvard and Yale freshmen.

The HERALD has elected the following officers for the ensuing year: Editor in chief, Carpenter, '85; managing editor, Greve, '84; news editor, Barton, '86.

The announcement in Friday's issue that Clark, '83, and Taylor, '86, Harvard's representatives in the inter-collegiate tennis tournament, were defeated by Brown, was a mistake.

An Amherst College Science Association, whose membership is restricted to those seniors who take scientific studies, has been formed, the science professors overseeing it. The association will have a room in the new Walker Hall for its especial use, and will meet weekly for discussion and investigation.
