FACT AND RUMOR.

Mr. Moses King, '81, proposes to start a Cambridge daily next year, which will devote a great deal of attention to college matters.

The proceeds of two concerts by Annie Louise Cary, to be given in Lewiston, Maine, are to be presented to the trustees of Bates College.

The Union Railroad is considering the project of running their cars by the cable system now in successful operation in Chicago and San Francisco.

The Co-operative Society during the week has been completing its arrangements with the Boston tradesmen to secure goods at a considerable discount for its members.

The crews have been rowing twice a day during Fast week; the boat-house attracted many visitors and presented a lively appearance. The 'Varsity has rested one day; '83 has rowed throughout the week; '82 rested Monday and Tuesday; '84 and '85 Monday.

Three men have been on the track throughout the recess; the track is in excellent condition and everything is now arranged for active out-door training, preparatory for the spring meetings.

Dr. Phillips Brooks has received the grant of a year's vacation from his parish, and will spend it in travel.

A life of Longfellow is being written by Dr. G. L. Austin, of Cambridge, and will be published in May. Dr. Austin has access to all of the dead poet's papers and is assisted by the family in his work.

Now Lampy, that's not right. We distinctly credited that forlorn joke about gym-jams to the Tiger. Are you afraid to claim it of a Tiger? Besides, the copyright on old jokes never runs longer than six months.

Driscoll, who is to walk against Meager in the 100-mile championship walking match for $1,000 a side, is under the exclusive training of Mr. J. Robinson. The track is completed, and there will be twelve laps to the mile.
