Yale.

Dartmouth. - Zoology has been introduced into the curriculum of the Junior year. Professor Hitchcock is giving lectures to the present Juniors.

- The Fletcher Prize of $500 for an essay on "The best means to counteract the worldly influences surrounding Christianity," has been awarded to Rev. Wm. W. Farris, of Peoria, Ill.

- President Smith has resigned. Professor Noyes is acting President. His successor will be Professor S. C. Bartlett of Chicago, or the Rev. W. T. Tucker of the Madison-Square Church, New York.

Williams. - The tenth annual dinner of the alumni was held in Boston, Monday evening, January 8.

- Professor A. L. Perry will have general charge of the College while President Chadbourne is absent at Boston, where he is delivering a course of lectures before the Lowell Institute.

Princeton. - The Committee on Morals and Discipline have placed wine sauce, together with billiards and bowling, on the Index Expurgatorius.

- The Princeton man pays for an engraved plate and fifty cards, two dollars, of which seventy cents, through the liberality of the engraver, goes to the India missions.

Miscellaneous. - Mr. Charles Tufts, the founder of Tufts College, died recently.

- The buildings for the Smith Female College at Northampton have been commenced.

- Phillips Exeter Academy receives $10,000 by the will of F. O. J. smith, of Westbrook, Me.

- Chancellor Crosby advocates a single University Examining Board for the State of New York, each college to be represented in the Board, which should have the power to confer all degrees.

- Although the standard for entrance to Wellesley has been raised, the present Freshman class has double the size that the last had. Over three thousand volumes were added to the library last year.

- It seems that the Wesleyan young lady was not chosen class-day poet, but poet for the class supper. The whole affair was a joke, and as soon as the young lady found out the character of the supper, which is like class suppers in general, she was glad to resign. There was no ill feeling on either side.

- At a meeting of New York college presidents, a committee was appointed "to consider and report upon any methods of strengthening the position and enlarging the influence of the colleges of the State" There is to be a meeting of college presidents and professors at Rochester some time during the spring.
