REGATTA WEEK AT SARATOGA.

FRESHMAN RACE.

The following positions were agreed upon as attained by the crews respectively: 1. Columbia; 2. Wesleyan; 3. Harvard; 4. Williams; 5. Cornell; 6. Dartmouth; 7. Princeton or Trinity; 8. Trinity or Princeton; 9. Yale.

On account of the resignation of the time-keeper, communicated to the judges immediately before the departure of the referee's boat for the starting-point, no official time has been reported.

The following claims of foul, made to the referee in accordance with Rule XI., were decided as follows:-

(1.) Harvard vs. Yale, and Yale vs. Harvard. Harvard's claim disallowed, in accordance with Rule XIV.; Yale's claim not entertained, as Yale violated Rules VII. and VIII., under which the race was rowed.

(2.) Wesleyan vs. Columbia. Not entertained, as the steering of each boat was somewhat wild, with no apparent wilful attempt to foul.
