For the fourteenth time in Harvard history, both the Crimson heavyweight and lightweight crews achieved first-place finishes in the first varsity event at the 2013 EARC Sprints. The competition took place on Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts.

It proved to be a successful weekend for the Harvard men’s heavyweight and lightweight crews, who each toppled opponents to extend undefeated spring season records. The No. 4 heavyweights defeated No. 3 Brown on Saturday at home on the Charles River, taking three of five races on the morning. The No. 1 lightweights displayed their dominance by sweeping all four races against Dartmouth and MIT.

Harvard men’s heavyweight and lightweight crew both competed in Worcester, Mass. on Sunday for the EARC Sprints championship. While the heavyweights were defeated in the first varsity race, they came away with a freshman eight title and an overall team win. The lightweights secured the varsity title for the second year in a row and placed second as a team.
