Pforzheimer House administrators had been attempting to secure Comstock Hall from a man who allegedly entered the building unclothed from the waist down since December 2024 — more than seven weeks before Harvard University Police Department responded to reports of his presence.

At least one resident of Comstock’s third floor reported seeing the man unclothed from the waist down in the early morning of Dec. 11 and immediately notified other residents of the floor, according to texts reviewed by The Crimson.

Monique A. Roy, the resident dean of Pforzheimer House, sent an email the next day to all residents of Comstock’s third floor about “concerns arising in your entryway” and invited residents to meet with her and discuss concerns.

“Tonight and throughout the rest of the semester, Securitas will make more frequent rounds,” Roy wrote.

Other Pforzheimer House administrators — including Roy and Comstock tutor Jill Jones — held multiple meetings with Comstock residents in the days immediately after the Dec. 11 sighting.

Still, administrators did not address the situation with the rest of Pforzheimer House until Feb. 6, when Roy sent an email informing students of the most recent encounter with the partially unclothed man.

Students in Comstock reported seeing the man come out of the communal bathrooms, which are shared by the entire floor, at least twice this semester. According to Comstock residents, the hallway bathroom doors on the second and third floors do not lock.

Harvard University Police Department responded on Feb. 1 to a report of “an individual who had previously exposed themselves” at Comstock Hall – the first reported incident of the spring semester.

HUPD spokesperson Steven G. Catalano declined to comment on the incident, citing an ongoing investigation.
