The Cambridge Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit is “following up” on the injuries a 21-year-old woman suffered on Linden St. Saturday, according to CPD spokesperson Jeremy Warnick.
The Harvard University Police Department is also investigating a report of assault in a South Street parking lot near Kirkland House, though it is unconfirmed whether any Harvard affiliates were involved.
On Saturday, CPD and HUPD responded to the medical situation on Linden St. Several CPD vehicles were parked outside the Delphic Club, and officers were questioning undergraduate members of the club early Saturday evening.{shortcode-ed308f0ebe175fe96f4f0e1b9298c92726d8557f}
“There was a medical situation on Saturday at approximately 5:37 p.m. on Linden Street near Massachusetts Avenue involving a 21-year-old female who suffered a laceration to her head,” Warnick wrote in a statement. “It appears that a bottle was thrown at a wall and subsequently shattered and struck a nearby female.”
HUPD has identified the individuals allegedly involved, according to Warnick.
“The CPD Criminal Investigations Unit will be following up to see if any possible criminal charges are to be applied and/or if the university should address this matter administratively,” he wrote.
Steven G. Catalano, a spokesperson for HUPD, declined to comment on the incident at the Delphic. He also did not comment on the assault on South St.
John R. S. Jacobsson ’90, the Delphic’s graduate board president, and several undergraduate members of the Delphic did not respond to repeated requests for comment for this story.
Though the Delphic has a members-only policy, undergraduate members occasionally invite non-members into the club house.
On Monday, HUPD assisted CPD to respond to a report of “cans and bottles being thrown from the Delphic Club,” according to the HUPD police log.
With the end of classes, HUPD also responded to a number of noise complaints around campus this weekend.
Police also responded to reports of theft from Harvard housing. On Saturday, a cell phone valued at $180 was reportedly stolen from the Inn at Harvard and two laptops valued at $2300 were reportedly stolen from two rooms in Cabot House. Earlier this semester, a string of similar thefts occurred in Lowell House.
