HUPD Police Log

6:27 a.m.—Officers were alerted to a news crew on Harvard property near Adams House, possibly without a permit, attempting to report on the assault of a Harvard student. The crew was reported near the Science Center and the Yard but it was determined that they, in fact, did have a permit.

5:06 a.m.—An officer was dispatched to Mather House to investigate an alleged larceny. An person reported a fraud, which exacted a total loss of $500, when he or she was given a fake check and had attempted to cash it in.

May 4:

12:21 a.m.—Officers were sent to assist Boston Police Department (BPD) in the search for a person allegedly chasing another person down Roxbury Drive. The individual could not be located.

12:54 a.m.—A report of three people throwing rocks at the steps of a church led officers to Memorial Church. Both HUPD officers and allied security responded to the scene but the alleged rock-throwers had fled the scene.

4:29 p.m.—An officer reported to 124 Mount Auburn St. to note the theft of a laptop computer valued at $1,327.

May 5:

1:06 p.m.—Officers were sent to Winthrop House in response to a report concerning an individual who had allegedly walked into the building, made a threat, and left. The responding officers searched but were unable to find the individual. A report two-and-a-half hours later alleged that the individual had returned to the premises, but again, the officers were unable to locate the individual.

1:49 p.m.—Officers were sent to investigate a person who had passed out in the Yard. Upon arrival, the officers found this person awake, checked him or her for wants and warrants to no avail, and sent him or her away.

3:36 p.m.—Harvard Hillel notified HUPD that an individual who frequently enters the building and engages in bizarre conversations with employees has once again entered Hillel. The individual had left the area by the time police responded.
