SEES AND DESIST: Nothing To Be Pissed About

I’m pissed that yet again, Boston University has taken home the Beanpot trophy, and that yet again—and despite actually winning the four post-exam and pre-Beanpot games—the Crimson was sent home empty-handed.

I’m not pissed for the reasons Welch is often pissed. And, admittedly, I am therefore not pissed for the right reasons. But still, isn’t there a little, tiny part of everybody who has watched this season unfold that is a little, tiny bit pissed right now?

Beanpot aside, Harvard had the chance to clinch the Ivy title and 20 wins this weekend. Noah Welch didn’t say he was pissed after it was all over. He said that the Dartmouth game was “really disappointing,” and the next night’s tie made him “really proud of the team.” As he should be.

His team has clinched second place in the ECAC, securing a first-round bye and home ice advantage for the league posteason. And if the NCAA Tournament began tomorrow, Harvard would be in it. So why should he be pissed?

There’s no reason to be pissed.
