SECONDARY OPINION

Princeton’s passing game, already hampered by a dearth of targets, won’t be the beneficiary of any favors from the injury bug this weekend, Murphy said on Wednesday.

Gary Sonkur, the oft-injured senior cornerback, has returned from a shoulder injury and safety Ricky Williamson is nearing full strength after a bout with meningitis.

“The health of the secondary right now is better than it’s been in three weeks, which means all the guys back are relatively healthy.” Murphy said. “At this point, there’s a lot of guys dealing with issues, but for the most part, Ricky’s healthy again, Gary’s healthy again, [and] Keith Howell has been a rock at the other corner so we’re in solid shape.”

The defensive unit as a whole is slowly returning to form as well, with defensive lineman Mike Berg returning from an incomplete leg fracture after being sidelined for a week.
