Solomon said that the invitation to Ventura stemmed from the IOP student leaders’ suggestions.
“Some people are invited because of their blinding insights into the political process. And some people are invited as exhibits,” said 2002 South Carolina Democratic senatorial nominee Alex Sanders, who was an IOP fellow this fall.
The Hill, a Washington, D.C. paper, first reported the IOP’s invitation to Ventura on Wednesday.
Ventura’s attorney, David B. Olsen, and his longtime agent, Barry Bloom, did not return The Crimson’s phone calls.
