W. Volleyball Ends Season With Losses to Killer P’s

Bendush is fifth Harvard player to notch 1,000 digs

The Crimson came out strong against Princeton Friday night, but couldn’t keep up the momentum dropping the match in four games (27-30, 30-28, 30-19, 30-27).

Harvard won the first frame of the four-game match, 30-27. The Tigers committed numerous errors which helped the Crimson pull out the victory.

Harvard was two points away from taking a 2-0 lead in the match, but a key block from Princeton sophomore Brittany Wood gave the Tigers the lead 29-28. Princeton took the next point to claw its way to a 30-28 win.

The loss seemed to deflate Harvard, which got trounced in the third game, 19-30.

Harvard bounced back in the fourth game, and put up a tough fight in the 27-30 loss.

During the game, Schweitzer posted 19 kills and 11 digs, while Miller had 14 kills and 20 digs.

Harvard’s seniors will be sorely missed. Their fellow players credit them with taking the volleyball program to a new level.

“The seniors are the heart and soul of the team in every way,” Schweitzer said. “Their attitude and work ethic have made Harvard volleyball what it is today.”
