The College Democrats did not endorse a candidate. Their platform however, covered economic policy, education, environmental policy, foreign policy, health care and social issues.
The platform will be circulated to all 10 Democratic presidential candidates, the national Democratic party and the state party, McGeary said.
The convention “was a great way to rally the troops, with our eye on the ultimate goal—beating George W. Bush in November 2004 and putting our country back on the right path,” said attendee Kenneth D. Schultz ’07.
Speakers on behalf of each of the 10 candidates encouraged convention attendees to get involved.
Hayden closed by highlighting the dangers of a Bush victory next fall.
“If Bush is re-elected, a progressive future will have been delayed for a long time,” he said.
