Last night’s contest was Harvard’s last scheduled non-Ivy game of the season, and the team feels prepared for tough conference competition after its early-season performance.
“By our record, it looks like we’ve won the games we were supposed to win, and lost the ones we were supposed to lose,” Peljto said. “But going in to the Ivy League season I think we can get a lot better. We’re going to have to because we’re the No. 1 team, and everyone is gunning for us.”
The Crimson will continue its Ivy play this weekend when it hosts Dartmouth (5-6, 0-1), who Harvard beat last weekend, 56-53, in Hanover.
Following the Big Green contest, the Crimson will head into a three-week break for exams, which has the team worried about its ability to maintain a rhythm.
“Our exams falling right in the middle of our conference play is really, really hard,” Delaney-Smith said. “But there are some advantages to it. It’s a long season, and it’s a much needed break.”
One such player who is welcoming the off-time is Peljto, who will get some much-needed rest for her hurting knee.
“It will be nice so that I can get some strength back from my injury ,” Peljto said.
