“It’s hard as a goalie, when you only see a few shots in a game,” she said. “When you’re really actively involved, it’s easier to be intense about the game.”
The Crimson defense will also have to play a large role by limiting Darmouth chances.
“We have to keep them to the outside,” Harvard junior defender and captain Jamie Hagerman said. “We have to play the body all over the ice and not be mesmerized by their good stickhandlers.”
Dartmouth fans, some of the most avid in women’s hockey, are hoping to be mesmerized by a Big Green vcictory. But that may play to the Crimson’s advantage.
“We want to be the underdogs,” Hagerman said. “We want everyone in the building to think we can’t do it, because that makes us work that much harder.”
Face-off is 1 p.m. at Thompson Arena.
