The Crimson's breadth of perimeter shooters also translated into a crop of consistent free-throw shooters, as Harvard hit six free-throws in the last minute and a half to put the game out of reach for the Terriers. Harvey, who has missed only one free-throw this season, converted four consecutive free-throws to extend the lead to 16. Clemente made the final two shots from the charity strip to seal the deal.
Harvard also benefited from B.U.'s poor free-throw shooting in the first half, as the Terriers missed five-of-nine from the line in the half. If the Terriers had continued with the 73 percent free-throw shooting they had before tonight, then B.U. could have closed the gap down to five points or less near the end of the game.
Congratulations Coach Sullivan
With this win over B.U., Sullivan earned his 100th win as the head coach of the Crimson. Only two previous Harvard coaches have reached the century mark in victories.
Sullivan is beginning his tenth season at the helm of the basketball program and has compiled a 100-140 mark while at Harvard.
