POLICE LOG

Aaron Presley, of 100 Harvard St., was arrested by Cambridge Police on charges of drug possession.

Presley was leaving a party when someone alerted him to the presence of narcotics officers searching exiting partygoers. According to police, when they asked Presley to remove his hands from his pockets as he left the party, he took out a wad of cash, a "a plastic bag containing a green herbal substance" and crack cocaine.

February 27

Thomas Deheny of 124 Nimantum St. in Brighton was arrested on the sidewalk in front of 94 Winthrop St. near JFK St.

Police accused him of assaulting two males with flashlights. Both were injured. Deheny was charged with assault and battery.

February 24

A Harvard security guard reported that an unknown man tried to access the upper floors of the Science Center at about 7:30 p.m. When the guard refused to let the man enter an elevator, the suspect threatened him, according to the guard. Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) officers responded but did not find the suspect.

Also on Feb. 24, an HUPD officer noticed a trash can on fire outside Border Cafe at about 6:50 a.m. The officer then saw smoke inside the restaurant. The Cambridge Fire Department responded with a full assignment of engines and trucks. Firefighters opened up walls inside the restaurant to check for fire. All hot spots were extinguished.

HUPD officers were asked to check the area around 40 Oxford St. after witnesses reported a man trying to break into cars. Officers arrived and found a man with a weapon "on his person." The CPD later identified the man as Todd Henneken of 45 Francis St. He was charged with "an attempt to commit a crime."

A Cambridge resident told police that her former roommate entered her apartment and threatened to kill her. She said the man hit her, threw her against a wall, and held a knife to her throat. He then scooped up the woman's 20-month-old baby and threw the child onto a couch, she said. He reportedly then said, "If I don't get you know, I'll get you later." The officers offered to help the woman take a restraining order out against her former roommate, but she refused.
