Jackson Will Lead HRDC Board

Harvard-Radcliffe Drama Club (HRDC) yesterday elected Jessica K. Jackson '99 to be its new president during the group's annual executive board elections.

Jackson, who was not available for comment last night, will officially take charge of the board at the beginning of next semester.

After the elections, Helen E. Shaw '98, HRDC's current president, said she was pleased with this year's large number of candidates.

"Never in my experience here have this many people run," Shaw said.

Shaw added that she felt "warm and fuzzy" about the election process and "positive about the election results."

According to David M. Krinsky '99, "all the candidates were fabulous...[and] qualified."

Other board members elected include Club Coordinator Oliver M. Lewis '00, Loeb Ex Coordinator, Michael P. Davidson '00, Publicity Coordinator Peter T. Wilson '98, Campus Liaison John B. Cearley '99, Technical Liaison Daniel O. Scully '99, Vice-President and Mainstage Coordinator Jennie E. Connery '99 and Treasurer Seth C. Harrington '00.

The eight-person HRDC executive board was chosen by roughly 40 club members in attendance.

According to Krinsky, the group's outgoing technical liaison, the HRDC executive board "acts as the production organization for the Loeb." In addition to it's work with the Loeb, the group also serves as "an umbrella organization for theater in general," according to Connery, who is the the group's current vice-president.

More specifically, the HRDC executive board is responsible for deciding which productions will be shown in the Loeb Mainstage and Experimental theater, Connery said.
