"Most of these other places cap enrollments, like Princeton," said Lewis. "We could do that too and keep everything small. I don't think students here would like it very much."
Lewis mentioned, however, that several faculty members have expressed support for pre-registration, which would enable them to exert greater control over class size.
Students have also complained about late lotteries that make rescheduling very difficult. Results for Science B-15 and Literature and Arts B-10 will be posted today. But results of the Historical Study B-61 lottery won't be known until Monday.
For now, disappointed students barred from entering popular Core classes can only pick themselves up and turn in another lottery form.
"I was really counting on taking the class, and I was crushed," Riva Kim '98 said last night. "I entered the lottery for Lit and Arts B-10, and I'm hoping I'll get into that one."
