Much of that can be attributed to the mandatory layoff for exams, according to senior Sam Halpert.
"It's tough to come out after the two-week break," Halpert said. "We're working hard and we've had good practices, though."
Injuries have prevented this team from reaching its full potential, but Harvard took a long step back when senior Marty Clark took the court in his customary number one spot against Williams.
Junior Jon Karlen also returned from an injury layoff against Williams.
He ended up winning his number two match 3-0, but went to the training room after his games.
Freshman Tal Ben-Shacher is still on the sidelines.
Fighting the Flu
The high number of recent injuries was a combination of a rampant flu bug that hit the team during exams, according to Doyle.
"Everybody got the flu during exams, both the men's and women's teams," Doyle said. "Then, when they came back, they weren't 100 percent and got hurt."
Doyle hopes to have Clark and Karlen at full strength for this weekend's marquee matchup against Princeton in Princeton, N.J. The Tigers, along with Harvard and Yale, are one of the top teams in the nation.
"We're all gearing up for Princeton," Halpert said.
It's going to be a pretty close match and the fans are really loud down there."
In the meantime, Hamilton will continue to dream about future matches.
