In an interview yesterday, Wolff said his administrative experience should help him in his new University Hall post.
"I've gotten a really good picture of the many-layered University administration," Wolff said.
Wolff said he hopes to continue some of the initiatives set by Maher, as well as to establish closer links between the graduate school and the Faculty's departments and programs.
Wolff said one of his goals is to "secure a sound financial basis for the graduate school."
Another priority, Woolf said, will be the "financial problems that our graduate students continue to have."
"The Harvard graduate school is not treating its graduate students as well as some of our competitors do," he said.
Wolff said he hopes to continue teaching undergraduates and graduate students on a limited basis.
