Israel appeared to be more of a brick wall thana frosh goalie in the early going. He turned awaysix tough Terrier shots to start the game.
But the seventh eluded him.
Early Scoring
Terrier winger Jay Pandolfo connected withJoubert late in the first period for the firstscore of the game. Despite being pinned againstthe boards by the Harvard defense, Pandolfomanaged to send the puck to Joubert in front ofthe net, who lifted a shot past Israel.
The Terriers widened their advantage with twoquick tallies at the beginning of the secondperiod. Senior forward Mark Bavis gave BU a 2-0lead 44 seconds into the period when he netted awrist shot after sweeping in front of the crease.
At 5:26 in the second period, with the Terrierson a power play, Pandolfo added on another pointwhen he pushed a unassisted shot into the upperright hand corner of the goal for the 3-0 BU lead.
Forward Perry Cohagen scored Harvard's firstgoal at 17:47 in the second period despite thefact that BU was in the middle of its fifth powerplay of the night.
Cohagen took a pass from Baird and weaved downthe center of the ice before flipping hisshorthand shot past BU goalie J.P. McKersie.
Harvard was on the defensive for most of thethird period. But BU could not get past Israeluntil 16:24, when Joubert scored his second goalof the night on the power play.
At 16:56, Baird scored an off-balance shot infront of the net to bring Harvard within twogoals. At 18:52, Flomenhoft tipped in a BrianFarrell shot to bring Harvard within one.
But the Crimson wasn't able to push the tyinggoal through.
