Elis Smother Gridders in Landslide

Yale Embarrasses Crimson, 34-19

With the Crimson D digging in for the big play, Kehler dropped back and hit Ya-Sin Shabazz on a sideline pattern for 43 yards. On the very next play, Kehler high-stepped 23 yards to the 1. After a Yale motion penalty and an a pass that was ruled out of bounds, Kehler's option play widened the Elis' lead to 27-10.

On the next play from scrimmage, Gaughan picked off Priore's wobbly heave and returned it to the Harvard 6. Three plays later, Callahan crashed it home from the 3.

And then it was left to the scantily clad Yale contingent to take up the pre-Game demonstrators' vow--"we won't go back"--as the action degenerated into near-riot chaos and the mounted police made frequent trips onto the gridiron.

The Elis' victory assured Coach Carm Cozza's squad of a third-place Ivy finish, behind Cornell and Dartmouth. The Big Red and Big Green tied for the league lead with victories over Penn and Princeton, respectively.
