Next week the Crimson again will play an out-of-league game. Colonial League representative Holy Cross (2-2) should prove as tough as the Yankee Conference's Minutemen (2-1). Last year, the Crusaders trounced the Crimson, 41-6.
"Of course there's some frustration," said Harvard Captain and defensive end Don Peterson, whose team surrendered 525 yards to the UMass steamroller. "The key is we have to come back with a good game against Holy Cross. It will be the same kind of game, a physical game."
Peterson said out-of-league games offer a test, one the Crimson did not pass Saturday.
"I would have hoped that we would have rose to the challenge," Peterson said. "But I'm confident we can get it back in gear against Holy Cross."
If not, the Crimson can take comfort in its schedule. In two weeks, Cornell will visit Cambridge.
"We're going to come out of these two games a better football team," Restic said. "If we don't win those ball games, we have something to look forward to--going back into the league."
