The puck echoes off the Crimson's sticks in half-empty Thompson Arena. It's 14:28 into the first period and the game is tied 1-1 on goals by Dartmouth's Sean Tomalty and Young.
Murphy fires one past Laurin for a 2-1 Harvard lead.
Thank heavens the Harvard Polaroid advances the film automatically. Eighteen seconds later and Burke's lining up for his mug shot.
"Obviously Allen [Bourbeau] and Lane are magnificent players," Harvard Coach Bill Cleary said. "But we've got some other players on this team."
MacDonald took the spotlight with a hat trick last Saturday. The Big Green defense wouldn't let him show his best side last night. Dartmouth was all over Bourbeau as well.
So the pair sent Young back for another shot. MacDonald passed back, Bourbeau fired the shot and Young stuck it in. Click, click, click. That makes a team-high five goals for the junior wing.
Harvard's ECAC opponents have had trouble with the Crimson attack. With last night's win, Harvard (5-0 overall, 5-0 ECAC) has taken over the top spot in the ECAC.
Dartmouth did better than most--pulling within two on a goal from Mike Daly at 16:41 in the second period, and holding Harvard scoreless through the third.
That's OK. Let the forwards start, Thanksgiving break a little early. Freshman goalie Allain Roy was tired of them hogging the camera anyway.
In only his second collegiate start, Roy blocked a team-high 26 shots. On the opening face-off Jamie Hanlon took the puck from Big Green teammate Rob Goulet and went alone for the net.
Smack, Roy slaps the shot away. One down, 25 more to go.
Get your cameras ready.
