Minnesota Wins Series, 6-4

Two goals by Craig Janney helped Boston College edge the University of Minnesota, 3-2, in NCAA Tournament play Saturday night, but Minnesota eliminated the Eagles, 6-4, in the two-game, total-goals quarterfinal matchup.

Minnesota, 34-12-1, advanced the semifinals for the second straight year. The Golden Gophers beat the Eagles, 4-1, Friday.

Janney, a sophomore center, connected on a 35-foot shot for BC in the opening period. At 10:27 of the same period, Hodge took a drop pass and ripped a 25-footer past Minnesota goalie John Blue in a four-on-four situation.
