Fogg and Barron cruised to 47 points, while Robinson and Harvey racked up 49 points for the Crimson.
Only four points separated fourth place from first. Its 96 points placed the Crimson behind Dartmouth (92), Brown (93), and Tufts (93).
Men's Volleyball
The Harvard men's volleyball team placed fourth in the Ivy League Round Robin Tournament held at Columbia over the weekend.
The Crimson knocked off Dartmouth, 2-1, and Penn, 2-0, before falling to Yale, 2-1. But the spikers got some revenge on the Elis by defeating them in a one-game elimination match to advance to the semi-finals against Princeton.
Second in its four-team pool, Harvard had to play the other pool's number one squad--Princeton. The spikers took the opening game from the Tigers but dropped the last two to fall out of the competition.
Equestrian
The Harvard equestrian team made a good showing this weekend in the 15-team field of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's event at Newbury College.
Bridget Bailey grabbed a first place in the Advanced Walk-Trot-Canter (WTC) while Laura Colin finished first in the Beginner division of the WTC.
Senior Mark Samuel placed fourth in the Open Equitation competition and fifth in the Open Equitation Over Fences event. Also placing were Kim Smith (fifth in Intermediate Equitation), Gallie Howard (fourth in Novice Equitational, second in Novice Equitational Over Fences), Eliza Gleason (third in Advanced WTC), and Sumi Ahn (fifth in Beginner WTC).
With good showings in next weekend's competition at Dartmouth, two riders--Mark Samuel and Gaby Gosman--have a good chance of capturing bids to the Equestrian Regional Championships in May.
Men's Rugby
The Harvard rugby team scrimmaged members from the Harvard Business School Saturday in preparation for the Ivy League Tournament to be held at Brown University April 19.
The scrimmage was the first action for the team since its return from a two week tour of France. "The France tour was indispensable," Club President Steve Rehmus said. "The team really came together and we have focused on winning the Ivy League Championship."
Cycling
The Harvard cycling club ushered in the spring season at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute's "WPI Season Opener" Saturday.
Sophomore Kirsten Berggren finished first in the women's race, beating out tough competition from Brown and UNH rivals. The Crimson women also received a solid performance from freshman Margaret Dubin, who was competing in her first race.
Four beginners entered for Harvard in the men's B contest, but none finished the course in a large field of over 100 racers. John Tomlinson, the club's president, placed around 30th out of a field of 70-80 competitors in the men's A division.
