Four players received recognition from New England coaches by being elected to the New England All-Star Team. Strauss--playing with a knee injury that threatened to keep him out of the water this year--was the team's high scorer with 72 goals on the year and was elected to the first team.

Johnston, who led the squad in assists, sophomore goalie Don Benson and Ben Elizondo, who paced the team in steals, made the second team.

Two other players deserving special mention are sophomores Fred Scherrer (the season's second-leading scorer) and Wade Stokes (who finished second in steals).

Along with the individual honors, the team's improvement over previous years is evidenced by its first-ever defeat of Brown's B-squad.

For the six graduating seniors, four years of relentless defeat at the hands of the Bruins was vindicated by a 12-6 victory October 4. The squad went on to show that the triumph was no fluke with a 7-5 decision three weekends ago.

And Harvard promises to continue as a formidable foe next season, with four of seven starters returning.
