If that's the case, showtime Saturday should make for some crimson fireworks. Nine Harvard players scored yesterday in the most balanced Harvard offensive display of the season.
Hart and Clifton led the full dress rehearsal, picking up five and four goals respectively. Such things are expected form top-goal scoter Hart these days. But with her four goals. Clifton equalled her total goal output of the entire season.
Freshman Leelee groome did the same, snagging three goals in the second half to give her six for the season.
Junior Lisa Black also turned in a hat trick. But the goals from sophomore Lucy Chubb and junior Trina Burnham were what set off the wild celebrations along the Harvard sideline.
In her only two shots on goal of the game (and only her second and third shorts of the entire season). Chubb connected on both for her first ever varsity goals.
And Burnham's only shot of the day was good enough to give her her first goal of the season.
Blair Wardenburg Claire Farley and Ellen Velie--who turned in one of her finest games of the year on both offense and defense--added one goal to round out the Harvard scoring.
THE NOTEBOOK: The nine-game win streak is still far short of the club record 16 wins. Everyone on the Harvard squad saw action yesterday...Clifton did not play in the second half.
Black Named Ivy
Player of Week
Junior Lisa Black has been named the Ivy League's Player of the Week for her 10 goal, five assist performance in wins over Brown and Cornell last week.
