Thad McNulty followed Murphy's example, edging out Princeton in the 1000-meter run giving Harvard back-to-back firsts.

"I just had jets in my legs," McNulty said yesterday.

The 800-meter dash followed with Harvard's John Chafee nabbing a fourth spot in a very tight race.

Five events later, Harvard racked up some more points as Peter Fitzsimmons and Mark Meyer finished third and fifth, respectively, in the 3000-meter run.

Captain Geoff Stiles boosted Harvard's final total to 28 by soaring past all contenders in the pole vault. Despite a pulled hamstring, Stiles cleared 16 ft. before calling it quits.
