Rocco Fiorentino. Christ and the Angels, at the MFA. Quintessential mannerism.
Views of Rome. Etchings by G.B. Piranesi and photographs by Herschel Levit, at the MFA through Feb. 21.
The Year of the Dragon. At the MFA through March. adorable, frightening, ridiculous and beautiful dragons.
Jacques Villon. At the Fogg through February 29. Look at 1Le Jockey to understand Villon's conceptual complexity.
Virtual Realities. At the Carpenter Center through February 29. Spaced-out two-dimensional three-dimensionality.
Then there's a good deal of fine photography around:
Alpha, 121 Newbury St., has an exhibit of 19th and 20th century American photographers--Ansell Adams, Edward Steichen, Bernice Abbot, Walker Evans and other biggies. Through Feb. 23. A similar exhibit called "New Exposures" is opening at the MFA Feb. 21. Lastly, if you haven't seen them yet, run over to the Carpenter Center and take a look at the VES 40 photographs. Very enjoyable, very fine work.
